Unknown gunmen attacked a security belt belonging to the United Arab Emirates in the city of Aden. Local residents in Sheikh Osman district told “Al- Sabah Al-Yemeni” that they heard the sound of an explosion followed with a heavy firing of bullets continued for a short period. A security source said that unidentified gunmen threw a grenade at a security point in the Al-Safeenah round in Sheikh Osman and fled by motorcycle, pointing out that the elements of the security point fired on the attackers without clarifying whether there were dead or wounded.
On Sunday, gunmen attacked and set fire to the headquarter of Islah Party. The party issued a statement only condemning militants wearing military uniform without clearly stating their affiliation and the party behind them. It is noteworthy that the city of Aden is experiencing a security tension between the southern movement and the militants of the Islah Party, since the decision of President Hadi to expel the governor Idros Zubaidi and appoint Abdulaziz al-Maflhi amid accusations to Islah party standing behind these appointments in preparation for redeployment in Aden and south.
